The War of Thedas Part 2 Lore

5 years ago the Imperial Army attacked Garrech Mach Monestary, this would result in the knights of Soltara being forced to flee from the monestary. But ever since then the world of Thedas has been one of war and blood. The Kingdom expecting to be forced to join the war was taken by surprise when a force of traitors successfully commited a Coup de'ta. This would result in most of the Kingdom leaders present at the time to be either killed or taken hostage and imprisoned. The Kingdom would be divided into two factions, those who joined the Empire and those who opposed the Empire. The faction that had joined the Imperials would declare themselves the Dukedom of Thedas. But some of the officials escaped and are now helping the knights of Soltara from Garrech Mach. The Monestary is officially under the Control of the Alliance as of recently. There has been no attempt by the Empire to reclaim it as marching an army towards Garrech Mach at this point in time would cost them heavily thanks to the fact that the area surrounding the Monestary is under Alliance Control as well. The Empire's plans are unclear but if the Alliance/Kingdom army wish to have any hope of winning they should attempt to take back the Kingdom Capital...
